VERY COOL. AINSLEY: SWEET. STEVE: MEANWHILE, A STORY THAT IS GETTING A LOT OF NEWS ON THE INTERNET AND EVEN HERE ON THE FOX NEWS CHANNEL. HOUSTON ROCKETS GM DARRYL MORLEY A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO TWEETED OUT SUPPORT FOR THE PROTEST IN HONG KONG. HE SAID FIGHT FOR FREEDOM, STAND WITH HONG KONG. OKAY. THAT SEEMS PRETTY INNOCUOUS GIVEN WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE WORLD. BUT NOT TO THE CHINESE. PETE: FREE COUNTRY BUT GO AHEAD. AINSLEY: CHINESE ARE GOING TO STOP AIRING THE NBA GAMES NOW, THE PRESEASON GAMES IN RESPONSE TO THAT THEY ARE FURIOUS ABOUT IT. PETE: THEY ARE. THEY ARE NOT A FREE COUNTRY AND THEY CONTROL EVERY ASPECT OF THAT THEY CONTROL MEDIA. THEY CONTROL THE ECONOMY. NO CRITICISM ALLOWED AGAINST THE COMMUNIST CHINESE. THE QUESTION WAS HOW WOULD THE NBA REACT? I MEAN, WE SAW THEM — THE OWNER HIMSELF OR THE G.M. OF THE ROCKETS PULLED DOWN THE TWEET. PUT AN APOLOGY ABOUT IT. TRIED TO LESSEN THE BLOW BACK. ADAM SILVER, NBA COMMISSIONER CAME OUT OVERNIGHT IN RECENT RESPONSE HAD THIS TO SAY ABOUT THE G.M. OF THE ROCKETS AND FREE SPEECH. LISTEN.>>THE LONG-HELD VALUES OF THE NBA ARE TO SUPPORT FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND CERTAINLY FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION BY THE MEMBERS OF THE NBA COMMUNITY IN THIS CASE DARRYL MORE AS HOUSTON ROCKETS ENJOYS THAT RIGHT. WE ARE NOT WILLING TO COMPROMISE THOSE VALUES AND AGAIN, I’M SYMPATHETIC TO OUR INTERESTS HERE AND TO OUR PARTNERS WHO ARE UPSET. AINSLEY: I’M SURE THEY ARE LOSING A LOT OF MONEY. I WAS PROUD OF HIM FOR SUPPORTING THE G.M. OF THE ROCKETS. STEVE: GOT TO WORRY ABOUT HOW CHINA FEELS ABOUT THAT THOUGH. OKAY. IT’S ALL ABOUT FREEDOM OF SPEECH. WE SUPPORT THE G.M.’S FREE SPEECH. NOW WHAT.>>WE LIVE IN A FREE COUNTRY, THE NBA HAS BEEN DOING ALL THIS SOCIAL AWARENESS AND JUSTICE STUFF PLAYERS LIKE THE NFL CHIME IN ON ISSUES. YOU CHIME IN ON POLITICAL FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION IN HONG KONG SUDDENLY NOW. THE OFFICIAL POLICY MIGHT BE WHAT HE SAID. UNDERNEATH THE SURFACE HE WAS PRESSURED QUICKLY TO NOT DO THAT ARE WE REALLY GOING TO LET OUR LEAGUE, OUR COUNTRY BE INVOLVED BY CHINA? WE HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPANIES, MARRIOTT, DELTA, GAP, OTHER COMPANIES HAVE GIVEN IN TO CHINA TIME AND TIME AGAIN. STEVE: AND SO HE IS SAYING WE SUPPORT HIM BUT AT THE SAME TIME, WHAT IF THE G.M. 1. If a Chinese businessman who have business with USA said, to support Iraq, support Syria, support for Langden, what do you think?

  2. It just prove one thing: the strategy that wish china can conform to liberal economic and democratic norms by allowing china join WTO totally failed. American people need to ask themself: do we really need to do business with China at any cost even when it start to hurt our nation foundation?

  3. HongKhong Dont Need Administration of china on Hongkhong Will Elect its presidential candidate hongkhong dont want to be another tibet, xinjiang

  4. Smart people will not do business with china. If your make money from the communists, they will see it as an exploitation. Only they can make money from you but not the other way round. Someday when you rely on their market, they will put you under control and take revenge. They never have the idea of fair trade. HK tycoons are being extorted by china. Examples are numerous but short sight people just choose not to see.

  5. The Chinese respect your freedom of speech, but the Chinese also have their own views. The Chinese principle is that Hong Kong is a part of China. This is history and fact. Everyone has to bear the conclusion of the speech. The NBA is really disappointing Chinese fans!

  6. poor guy just brainwashed by the lying media in westen countries. For those who blamed China, what would Spain respond if NBA stands by with Catalonia?

  7. Freedom of speech, yes, but you are not an ordinary person, you are the manager of the NBA, this involves national interests and politics, the views of the US government support, the Chinese government is opposed, and the trade war between the country and the United States. Everyone has their own interests.

  8. NBA deals with devils. Now NBA is chickening out. It is all about money. We don’t have values it is just mouth piece and at end, I like I said it is $$$$$ NBA is for profit!

  10. To be reasonable, the NBA could have earned money to create jobs for Americans. Just because a Twitter person will be unemployed, some people will lose their salary. It seems to you that the money is dirty, no money or unemployment may be better.

  11. horrifying lack of citizenship, history, and a soul. Good luck living in China. Take your chinese made shoes and ball with You.

  12. horrifying lack of citizenship, history, and a soul. Good luck living in China. Take your chinese made shoes and ball with You.

  13. I'm confused with all these Chinese people speaking against the tweet. Do you guys not care about freedom or the fact that your government openly watches and controls almost everything you do?

  14. says western media is being telling proganda, brain washing its people while the government itself is dictorial, opresses and is sensitive af when it comes to one tweet smh..

  15. Sure you have your freedom of speech. But is it really so hard to understand that China and the Chinese have their freedom to do business with you or not? Chinese government control everything? Grow up people. Don't always blame it to the Chinese government. You make it sound like they are the busiest organization in the world, reacting to tweets all day long even? If you want to blame, blame all or most Chinese. Sure, they are all brainwashed etc. Whatever. I'll say, do or say whatever you want nba, we don't want you and not need you. Go back to the USA or whatever other countries that want you. Just leave China alone. Since you don't care about our feelings or what the Chinese cares for, why do business? Quit all these nonsense about righteousness. We don't want to talk to you, period. Just leave. Why sent your CEO or commissioner or whatever here to discuss anything. Be a man, just leave. Better yet, publiclly announce that nba don't need China. That may earn you the last little respect that may left.

  16. I wish corporations would stand up more to the American Values and not BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN CHINESE MONEY… HONGKONG PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING…!!! JUST SHOWS MONEY CAN BUY EVERYTHING INCLUDING THESE GREEDY CORPOATIONS SOULS!!! SOULESS BLOODSUCKING LEECHES!

  17. Every country has its own red light district. Chinese people can't use Google. There is no sound in the world. Many people don't understand the bottom line of this country. The problem of Hong Kong in China is defined as riots that endanger social security. China believes that it is not to deprive people of their freedom of speech, but that you are responsible for what you say. Even in the eyes of the Americans, this is a very common discourse, but this is the Chinese version of racism. Fighting for freedom in Hong Kong, is it fighting for terrorism? The two countries are separated and used by people with ulterior motives. The resulting loss is the sorrow of the two peoples. Is more understanding better?

  18. It's all about money. Money talks.
What is more important for US , hundreds billions generated by military industrial complex or the
millions of innocent lives in the middle east.

  19. Just one question, can anybody tell if what has happened in HK happens in US/UK, what will your government do? And how many people will be arrested or even killed? Thank you.

  20. If you don’t know what is like to be free, then try to imagine you are a bird flying as free as it can be. If you can’t see it, you must be half dead.

  21. I respect Adam Silver for not apologizing for Daryl Morey, this just show what these chinese peoples character are, why would they quit ties with NBA bcoz of just a statement from a man that doesnt represent the whole NBA. Its China's loss if they do these to NBA as a basketball fan. Id love to see China switch sports, just bcoz I hate their guts.

  22. In Canada the gov't is already talking about punishing some types of 'freedom of speech'. Long live the democracy!

  23. Time to boycott China
They would be nowhere near where they are today without the US

And whoever Chinese companies get the benefit by sending packages that cost the USPostal Service and therefore the US Taxpayers money with every single package, I probably will never know. But I bet Pelosi and and Feinstein profit from it.

  24. As adults/grown ups, you have to take responsibility for what you have freely expressed/said, especially when you are a public figure whose actions will affect things/people far beyond yourself. It is what the real world is.

  25. I don't get it why fighting for freedom and stand with HK is offensive to the Chinese. It is correct literally. He was not saying supporting HK independence.

  26. I support China. America is becoming a joke, they allow black people to be racist, and commit crimes and give them a pass because of their skin color. Americans are a bunch of dumb SJW's liberals, and have ruined a once great nation. Trump is only good thing going in America, he's a brave man that stands up to these corrupt liberals.

  27. What if DM tweet “white supremacy”? Will you guys still do the same like saying you respect his freedom of speech? ? ? DOUBLE STANDARD? Are you still don’t know what you should apologize for? ? NBA ? US?

  28. Fxxked NBA! Mind your own freaking business. The ban is spot on! Want to make money from China and then take a pot shot at China. Hypocrite! Bite the hands that feed you! Ingrates!

  29. Sport has nothing to do with POLITICS ! Otherwise, I can also say : "Fight for FREEDOM stand with American Indian !!! " Because, USA since the begining belong to American Indian !

  30. listen sons, hongkong protesters now are doing terrorism things, and you support them and say that is kind of freedom of speech?you are supporting terrorism now!well then i will say i support 9.11attack,and i would like to see more such things happen in usa, don't forget you americans sparked many wars, killed innocent people too.hell no? freedom of speech?fuc you

  31. What the two guys learn in this issue is When u want to show ur Freedom of speech think about if u can afford the consequences.

  32. The commissioner looks like an undertaker! What a joke, let’s support China over freedom. The Chinese love the NBA, any ban would not last long.

  33. this is so stupid, Americans are so dramatic.
Morey deleted his own tweet, and then everyone else starts talking about freedom of speech? How in the world are these two events remotely related? Did China point the gun at his head and tell him to shut up?

  34. Some of you think Chinese being too sensitive to this kind of things including Daryl Morey's latest comments, but different countries and places have different culture, people have different things that matter to them. Would you think people were being too sensitive to Donald Sterling's comments? Most of you will say no. Take a look at the history of invasions to China. China was left in ruins, and it took decades for the country and its citizens to recover from the savage attacks. That's one of the reason China takes it seriously about mutual respect for territorial integrity, sovereignty and non-interference in each other's internal affairs. And I hope you guys can understand that.

  35. I am a Chinese and I am curious about if it is legal for Amercian celebrities to talk about national disruption issues in public dispite his or hers huge influence? Truely, such freedom of speech is unacceptable in our value….

  36. I'm glad the commissioner of the NBA came out to express the opinion of the league on freedom of expression of an employee. I feel so proud to live in a country that enjoys freedom of speech and I want to keep it that way for as long as time gives us!!!!!

  37. Keep in mind, in the PRC saying "Free Hong Kong" is considered hate speech.

Funny how all those progressives shouting "freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom from consequences" have suddenly changed their tune and are now supporting "hate speech."

  38. It's perfectly fine for Daryl to post that tweet, but it becomes disgusting while his team is earning loads of Chinese money due to Yao Ming influence. It's always easy to see one side of the story and point fingers to enhance self image.

  39. i think freedom is bad, and everyone should get paid the same which should be 4 bucks an hour… also….. 🍻

  40. If you say in the Islamic countries that everyone has the freedom to eat pork! If you say black pigs in the United States. Will you regret it? What is freedom of speech? What is nationalism? Say words with political positions when you don't know Hong Kong! Is not wise!

  41. "Support" a violent protest under on a former colony as a foreigner. This is not about the freedom of speech, it's about how stupid and ignorant that you can be.

  42. I love that Fox News keeps attractive women in front of the camera. Beautiful and interesting dress! So much better than looking at Rachel Madcow, I mean Maddow, who tries her best to look like a man.

  43. When you said "they control everything" I wonder who comtrolled me not watching NBA. Can you control people's love or hate?

  44. American companies betrayed the freedom and democracy of the United States and also highlighted the sexual abilities of the American people…
The Chinese people say that the sexual ability of the American people is not as good as that of the Chinese people. Therefore, American companies always say sorry to the Chinese.

  45. You can speak your mind, but it doesn't mean I have to agree with you nor care to continue doing business with you. United States the the freedom of speech. China has the freedom the tell the NBA to f*&k off and take your business elsewhere. Everybody has the freedom of speech, even in China.

  46. Adam "Lurch" Silver needs to grow a pair and simply say "Good-Bye, China" But $ is more powerful than ANYTHING in today's putrid world

  47. Who cares if China stops showing matches over there, Their loss. Groups like the NBA should stop taking money from these corrupt and dictatorial countries. Stop giving in to these dictatorships. If you want to finance your game with these spoilt overpaid athletes then work harder at getting sponsorships from home, or run a tighter ship.

  48. u definitely can have free speech, but u need to undertake the consequences, just like Donald T. Sterling in 2014.
For the Chinese, the issue of national sovereignty is as serious as racial discrimination.

  49. actually is that America is not a free country, the US control everything ,attack other countries , use freedom to brainwash other people ,thank u

  50. NBA should not bow down to communist china. NBA does not need china. the direction they choose may backfire. Americans like me are done watching. if NBA doesn't embrace American values and wants to stand with an intolerant government for the money, tally hoe

  51. So, you have the right to express your freedom of speech, and we Chinese have the right to resist you. It's all very free. The NBA is like a shop where customers come to spend money and think you have the right to scold customers, right?

  52. Hong Kong people are fighting and dying as we talk. They are doing whatever necessary to not let China take over. If China take over there will be no more freedom for Hong Kong. Stay strong Hong Kong. God bless.

  53. China sees all criticism as destructive. The destructive part is caused by communism, not criticism. Maybe the NBA needs to move to China ?

  54. The difference between China and the US is, in China the state controls most of the things, meanwhile in the US a bunch of rich billionaires control every aspect of your life. So next time you talk about, democracy free speech, free that free this, keep in mind that you are no different than China. Delusional people

  55. I see someone said The china government hides something happen to Chinese citizen, Im Chinese and I graduated from uni in US, I know sometimes the media in My country intends to hide something, but how do you guys know Your countries' media did not hide some important things? In My country i can only see some violencs protest in hk, but you can also only see The news of hk police department violent behavior!Do you know how Instagram and facebook, youtube delete The truth in hk?I know. Have u been to hk?I live in hk and I know everything

  56. What you called patriotism, becomes brainwashing when it comes to China? Mobs in Hongkong hurts innocent Chinese tourists and reportors, is it right to support these crazy traitors?
