Psychological Tricks of Taj Mahal – This is why YOU LOVE this!

Hey guys, today let’s take a look at why Taj
Mahal is loved so much by everyone. In this video, I am going to show you a series
of tricks and illusions used by the architects to make you fall in love with this amazing
structure. The very first time you look at Taj Mahal,
it will simply blow your mind. This is because the builders use an optical
illusion to trick your mind. When you first enter through the main entrance,
you see the Taj Mahal through an arch and everything else is dark around it. This makes your eyes focus fully on Taj Mahal,
and the beauty of Taj Mahal completely engulfs you. But the illusion gets even better, if you
walk towards the Taj Mahal, it will become smaller and smaller. And if you step back and walk away from the
Taj Mahal, it will appear to get bigger and bigger. This is a fascinating illusion, but this is
just the beginning. Let’s take a closer look at the Taj Mahal
and you begin to see columns which are made of many sides. Let’s examine this column – you can see that
it has a total of 6 sides with zigzag lines painted all over it. But does it really consist of 6 sides? If you examine this closely you will figure
out that these are not 2 sides, but one, this is a flat piece. The entire column consists of just 4 sides,
but the lines are painted in such a way that it appears to have more sides. An actual optical illusion, to trick your
brain into thinking that the structure is more complex that it actually is. Even if you zoom in completely, and look at
it for several minutes, you don’t understand this unless you feel the sides, this is not
easy to understand. But look at these lines carefully and you
can see something very interesting. These are not painted, they are stones embedded
on top of white marble. In fact, there is not even a trace of paint
on Taj Mahal, all these designs, these flowers and even the writings all over the walls are
made of made of precious and semi-precious stones which are carefully glued on top of
white marble. And these stones have a weird property. They gleam when light shines on it. If you take a flash light, and shine it on
these stones, they will glow like light bulbs. I have shown you the secret view into the
bathroom of Queen Mumtaj, which uses mirrors instead of stones and the visual effect is
amazing. The Taj Mahal employs stones of various colors
and this creates a gleaming effect on these designs, during sunlight and even moonlight. This makes visitors wonder why certain paintings
are glowing on Taj Mahal which is made completely out of white marble. But is the Taj Mahal made completely out of
white marble? Actually it is not, if you look at the aerial
view, it shows that red sandstone has been used on the top. But this is not visible for anyone who is
on the ground. The Taj Mahal doesn’t look that impressive
when you see it from the air, because of the red sandstone which is native to the land,
but the architects knew that people who view the taj mahal from the ground level cannot
see this. A clever architectural trick, which makes
you think that the Taj Mahal is made completely out of white marble. The white marble structure has some peculiar
properties. Like a Chameleon, it changes color according
to the time of the day. It looks slightly pinkish in the morning,
and takes on a weird transparent shade on foggy days, appears white throughout the day,
and looks golden in moon light. This is one of the reasons why Taj Mahal is
revisited by many tourists, it gets more than 7 million visitors every year. Now, let’s take a look at the stone inlays
here – Here you can see this yellow branch going under the dark green one and coming
out on top. These are individual yellow stones placed
around the dark green stone. Everything is set at the same level on white
marble, nothing goes underneath or over anything. Not just the flowers, leaves and fruits, but
even these curvy stems are semi-precious stones, cut and placed, with such precision that you
don’t see any joints at all. This is the Brilliance behind this artwork
to makes it look realistic. Let me zoom in here, and if you observe carefully,
you can see something depressing. There are 2 flowers missing here. These were originally made of diamonds, and
were plucked out by British soldiers in 1857. The rest of the stones are semi-precious,
this is why they haven’t touched them. Even today, people attempt to steal what’s
left over from Taj Mahal and other such monuments. Here you can see that people have recently
taken these red stones out. But there are designs made completely out
of white marble, which are also mind boggling. This is just one piece of stone showing a
floral design. But if you start looking at these designs
carefully and you begin to see many hidden figures. Intertwined snakes, an ancient symbol. A Scorpion, A butterfly and many other animals
start to come out. And here is a giant block of white marble
and see how they have made so many hexagonal designs out of it. Inside the Taj Mahal these designs get even
more complicated, and make you wonder how they were created. So, you can see how a series of optical illusions
and design techniques can make you fall in love with the Taj Mahal. These are the reasons why it was declared
as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2007, it got more than 100 million votes. I am Praveen Mohan, I hope you liked this

  1. What I don’t understand with your videos is that you make out that it’s a ‘Hindu’ to play with Hindu sentiments. Which I think it’s completely silly and pointless. If Hindu’s (which is a term used by Arabs) failed to protect their lands, then surely their golden age had come to an ended a long time ago. Hence the advent of new ideas, belief systems and invasions that naturally happened – simply because it’s how we evolve. Ancient greeks were smart but their time had come to an end because nothing lasts.

Islamic history has always been about absorbing its surroundings wherever it lands and nothing wrong with that. Taking its art and creating something new, elegant and beautiful. Geometry was always Islamic/non Islamic art so nothing new that ‘only’ Indians did. Early Islamic art had figurative paintings throughout the middle east. The Persians embodied figurative art within their belief system and even do now. The Kaaba had no idols and then had idols and then later again had no idols throughout its history. Everything you say is a known fact but you twist it around.

Con-spirators like yourself always find something to justify their agenda/belief system and they exist in every religion every continent. Like the flat earth conspirators.

Hindus must learn to stop playing the victim game and focus on cleaning the Ganges and ending extreme poverty. You will never be a powerful nation until treat minorities and women with respect and ending poverty.

  2. Praveen you have done good videos. But why have you described these great works of our ancient artists as "tricks" . ? You could have named this in much respectful way.

  3. The torch light at 2:46 is amazing, when he shines a torch on the flower sculpture it reflects all the different colours of the rainbow.

  4. NOT everybody is in love with taj mahal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some even give a shit about it… can you imagine?????

  5. It is built from sneaky people for sneaky people… all indian is full of snakes so what did you accept???
    Something real???
In any country which is run by snakes you won't find the truth!!!
    Think about it.

  6. Amazing, in the same way the four minarets built on vertices of Taj are built little out leaning from centre, to avoid them to appear leaning little inside if built straight.
    I learnt it NGC documentary.
Expecting your valuable opinion on this comment.

  7. Wonderful … For me, India is the most beautiful country in the world. In fact, it is not a country, but another world. A good and beautiful world. So, it become even a family. A great family. And I feel that I'm part of this family.

Thanks and I wish you all the best, with health and happiness, in peace !

  9. It's no wonder it took 22 years to build it. In fact I'm surprised it didn't take 100! It's gorgeous! I'm currently reading a book about it & the Moguls history. Thank you for fascinating upload. Just wish I could afford to go see it. Namaste!

  10. Namastay Mr. Praveen First of all Good job . Now the twisting parts.

    3. I always say india is my Country , i know it from the deep of my heart and the Rajasthan is in my pocket.

    4. Your explanation on 6.51 is wrong placed , it is not from Taj Mahal but from Ambair fort ( Jaipur , Rajasthan ) .

  11. It is proposed that the Taj Mahal is actually a Hindu monument, rather, a temple dedicated to lord Shiva as Chandramouleshwar, i.e the lord of moon (as moon did penance for is lost form).
In another video, which shows the bathroom with millions of small mirrors, I highly suspect (considering the fact that the monument was a Shiva temple) that the very place might be the place for the lingam (the atmosphere is so created as to moon – chandramouleshwar amongst the stars), which would lit up as lamps are a constant use in the temple.
    Your views.

  15. make a vedeo about navagraha statues around the sun god in shiva temples depicts 9 planets revolve round the sun which our ancients known centuries ago

  16. Parveen you should visit Banavasi near sirsi north karnataka approx 22km its mind blowing….

  17. Awesome . Wow . WOW WOW WOW. Optical illusions . The place is Out of This World.

  19. Thank you for explaining to us about the pillars looking to be 6 sided but it is only optical illusion.Though I visited Taj some 13 years before,I can’t recollect the illusory pillar.Even the flowery designs reflect light like bulbs.Do you see Taj as Shiva Temple ,Tejo Mahal,in Taj structure?

  20. I was lucky enough to visit the Taj Majal 30ish years ago-at that time, they sold marble plates, and such, with inlays in designs simialr to those on the structure, probably so you could take away part of the beauty, without defacing it! My memory of this incredible building is still as vivid as the day it first took my breath away. Thanks for sharing some of its secrets with us!

  21. Can't we suggest replacement of the diamonds plundered by the British? We could replace them with industrial grade diamonds

  22. Many thanks to U Praveen…………………….U are wonderful……………..My Taj Mahal………..one day my husband and I will be going again to see our tomb together……..Namaste

  23. Your a great intelligent guy ..keep up ur good work ..let the world know abt our ancient great works …

  24. India was rich, so people were relaxed and happy and they welcomed everybody. Mughal and British empires who were poor those days, focussed on taking wealth to show off to their family !? look at Shajahan -he built Taj Mahal to show his romance to one of his wife's and Shajahan got scared thinking if someone builds a better structure in future his wife might leave him as Taj Mahal becomes the benchmark of showing his love, because the dump king did not know how love and respect works, hence after finishing Tajmahal, when the designers were waiting for their bonus from the king, they got their hands cut instead, what you say to that ?

  25. There is so many more beautiful temples in India like golden temple and many Hindu temples.why all this fuss about this monstoures building.i have been there twice and I did not find the this place special.stop this shit about bloody Taj Mahal.

  26. Unfortunately, the only experience I have so far with Indian people is that they are famous for scamming people and a lot of Indian people work as serious tech support. Not trying to spread "hate". It´s just something I realized after watching this interesting video.

  27. Not just Britishers but now Indians try to destroy our fascinating architectural sites by write their stupid names., Splitting and now remove stones ….such a fools if these things are not save by us or protect then how we can grow our economy…..

  28. I really enjoy your work Paveen. Just like the BBCs remit you are Imformative educational and entertaining. Thank you for giving me all the three of them. You helped me join the dots up.

  29. Great video! First video that goes a little deep in way the Taj Mahal was builded.Greetings from BRAZIL 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

  30. I think as if at all the colonial rulers had taken them or the big shots of India have them , there was so much in the old temples , where the heck is that now, why all hindutva investigating the Muslim places only , be it a mosque or a tomb??? but the real treasury was in the hands of pundits/Brahmins , where is all the centuries old treasure of the countless old temples , which were operative than and still operational now in 2019, thousands of year's treasures still unaccounted till todate……but hindutva to hide that are hellbent to lure/divert attention of innocent majority to the mosques and Muslims, RSS/hindutva hv a very big network of ppl working for the propaganda via social media networks and door to door ladies social workers…beware of new colonial rulers…BJP/RSS/HINDUTVA…THESE ARE MORE POISONING THAN THE BRITISH MAYBE AS IT SEEMS…jst sharing views …

  31. The missing diamonds should at least be replaced with replica cubic zirconia, if not real diamonds and the top floor could be tiled with white marble to make it more attractive from the air.

  32. Iam from Agra and I already knew it's a hindu shiva temple…there are enough evidence hiding beneath the surface of taz that if gets unlocked can cause a ripple in Indian history…Anyways great work done by you Praveen..👍👍

  33. I think it is a shame to talk about the beauty of Taj Mahal and not mention the creators. Taj Mahal is a Mosque and it was built by Afghans, who are Persian. Unlike today, the Afghans were rich then and they ruled this part of India. The love story associated with it is of the Persian King and the Persian Queen. The king commissioned this structure for his queen upon her death. The Arabic inscription on top is the same as the inscription on many of the mosques in Afghanistan. Obviously when the Afghans left they were not going to take the Mosque with them. You went as far as to mention that the British stole two small flower, but here you are stealing a whole history. Indians had very little to do with the Taj Mahal, though they get the glory for it.

  34. india ki shan hai taj ajkal gaye ka pishab pine wale ghde kehrahe hain anab shanab magr kuch ukhad nhi sakenge taj ka

  35. Amazing information. Great video. The presentator should have kept himself behind the screen . It's really annoying .

  36. I watched this video and got so proud to be Indian and then i read all the comments… Seeing all the hindu, muslim, christian comments and communal fudes here i feel sorry for my India. Only if some epidemic selectively swept all these shitheads off from my poor country…

  37. I don't think there are any more intrinsic, artistic, or beautiful temples in the world than exist in India. I was horrified to see the theft of the diamond flowers by the British soldiers and the theft of other semi-precious gemstones by others. One could devote a lifetime to the study of temples in India and never be complete. Thank you for this wonderful video.

  38. Watched the video….still don’t like it.
The Taj itself is dark and sinister.
Didn’t Epstein have a similar illusion painted on his rape, maim, and consume, sacrificial-temple?
Now I have even more reason to hate this cold, dark, and demonic structure.
    Jesus is the only way

  39. There is no bathroom of Queen Mumtaz in the Taj Mahal, Praveen.
Taj Mahal is a mausoleum and it was built after her death.

  40. Let tajmahal die it's own death. As many Muslim rulers destroyed hindu temples, killed millions of Hindus, plundered Hindu temples. I feel happy while this tomb is degraded by nature. It's dying slowly.i don't like this stupid tomb , as this shah jahan masacared lakhs of Hindus and plundered many Hindu temples.

  41. It is time Britain returned all the stolen treasures, including the crown jewels. We should also return the mummies to Eygpt, if I want to see Mummies or the Elgin marbles then I should have to travel to where they have come from. It would be like a British person going to India to look at Stonehenge.
